Welcome to my website. I am Dr Chaw Chee Kien. I am a resident general surgeon at the Columbia Asia Hospital (Cheras) in Balakong, Selangor, Malaysia. It is an community-based hospital offering first class service at affordable rates. The hospital is clean, comfortable and equipped with the latest modern medical equipment. It is a paperless hospital employing its own medical information technology to enhance efficiency, reduce patient waiting time and contribute to a greener environment.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia and completed my Master in General Surgery at the Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. My special interests are in minimally-invasive and colorectal surgeries. I pursued my interests in minimally-invasive surgery at the GEM Hospital in Coimbatore, India and had the opportunity to learn from the master laparoscopic surgeon, Professor Palanivelu. I also went to the National University Hospital in Singapore to learn laparoscopic surgery from Dr David Lomanto who hailed from Italy. In addition, I also attended a fellowship program in colorectal surgery at the Singapore General Hospital under the guidance of Professor Eu Kong Weng. I have worked in various training hospitals in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan and Putrajaya prior to joining private practice.
